M. Phil. – Entry Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. B.Sc. Four Year Special Degree
    Research proposal submitted by the candidate will be evaluated by a committee nominated by the Board of Study Physical Science (BSPS) for its suitability.

    If the candidate does have a four year special degree, also the discipline is outside his/her specialization area, candidate must follow minimum of three credit unit courses* recommended by the supervisor and should obtain a grade point of three or above (GP ≥ 3) for each course during his/her study period.

    A presentation based on the research project must be made by the candidate in each year. This is a requirement for the annual registration extensions.

  2. M.Sc. Degree
    Research proposal submitted by the candidate will be evaluated by a committee nominated by BSPS for its suitability.

    If the candidate does not have a four year special degree in the relevant field he/she must follow minimum of three credit unit courses* recommended by the supervisor and should obtain a grade point of three or above (GP ≥ 3) for each course during his/her study period.

    If the candidate does have a four year special degree, also the discipline is outside his/her specialization area, candidate must follow minimum of two credit unit courses* recommended by the supervisor and should obtain a grade point of three or above (GP ≥ 3) for each course during his/her study period.

    A presentation based on the research project must be made by the candidate in each year. This is a requirement for the annual registration extensions.

  3.  B.Sc. General Degree or Equivalent Degree
    Research proposal submitted by the candidate will be evaluated by a committee nominated by BSPS for its suitability.  Further, candidate has to appear for an interview with the committee.

    Candidate must follow minimum of five credit unit courses* recommended by the supervisor and should obtain a grade point of three or above (GP ≥ 3) for each course during his/her study period.

    A presentation based on the research project must be made by the candidate in each year. This is a requirement for the annual registration extensions.

  4. Professional qualifications acceptable to the Board of Study
    Research proposal submitted by the candidate will be evaluated by a committee nominated by BSPS for its suitability.  Further, candidate has to appear for an interview with the committee.Candidate must follow minimum of five credit unit courses* recommended by the supervisor and should obtain a grade point of three or above (GP ≥ 3) for each course during his/her study period.A presentation based on the research project must be made by the candidate in each year. This is a requirement for the annual registration extensions.

* If however, relevant courses are not offered by the University, appropriate steps needed to be taken will be decided by the Board of Study of Physical Sciences.
