The following three research projects of Department of Computer Science are in the “NBQSA 2019 Winners’ Circle” under the tertiary and postgraduate categories:

  1. BirdGuide by Malsha Senevirathne and Mahesh Samarasinghe (Supervisor – Dr. P. Ravindra S. De Silva) – Tertiary Category
    Developing a mobile application to recognize and identify different kind of bird species in Sri Lanka using the images which are captured by the user and provide a basic description about the species to the user.

  2. DiabMate by Ms. Madhushi Welikala (Supervisor – Mr. MDR Perera) – – Tertiary Category
    DiabMate is a portable wearable device that collects Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) readings from the user’s fingers and calculate predictions of the user’s Blood Glucose Level using Machine Learning trained with a set of carefully chosen meta data. DiabMate Mobile Application facilitates wireless communication with the wearable and also provides an user-friendly and intuitive to help the users stay ahead in the battle with diabetics.
